Why am I starting a blog? It’s a good question. I’ve always been interested in self-help, psychology, and religion. I enjoy talking about these topics with others who are also interested. I don’t have all the answers and neither do you. So maybe if we combine our heads, we can fit some pieces of life’s puzzle together and create our own solutions.
Effective use of body language is a powerful way to enhance your message during public speaking. Nonverbal cues can significantly influence how your audience perceives you and your message.
Posture and Stance
Your posture is the foundation of your body language. It conveys confidence and authority before you even speak.
Stand with purpose. Plant your feet about shoulder-width apart, distributing your weight evenly. Avoid swaying or shifting from side to side, which can make you appear nervous.
Maintain an open stance. Keep your arms uncrossed and your hands visible. Crossing your arms can signal a defensive or closed-off attitude.
Stand tall. Straighten your spine and relax your shoulders. This not only projects confidence but also helps you breathe more easily, which is essential for vocal projection.
Gestures and Expressions
Your hands and face are tools for emphasis and emotional connection. They should work in harmony with your words, not distract from them.
Use purposeful gestures. Your gestures should be intentional and functional, reinforcing your message. For instance, use a gentle rising motion when talking about growth or use your hands to emphasize a critical point.
Avoid repetitive or nervous gestures. Fidgeting, such as tapping your fingers or playing with a pen, can be highly distracting.
Match your facial expressions to your message. Your face is your most powerful tool for conveying emotion. Smile when discussing something positive, and use a serious expression to emphasize a grave point.
Movement on Stage
How you move across a stage can guide your audience’s attention and add rhythm to your speech.
Walk with purpose. Don’t pace aimlessly. Instead, move from one spot to another only when transitioning to a new point or idea.
Connect with the audience. Make eye contact with individuals in different sections of the room. A brief, sustained gaze for a few seconds can build rapport and make each person feel you are speaking directly to them.
Pause with intention. Stop moving when delivering a key point or a powerful statement. A brief pause, accompanied by a resolute stance, allows your words to sink in and adds authority to your message.
To put yourself in your audience’s shoes, you need to understand their perspective, interests, and potential concerns before you ever step on stage. This preparation allows you to tailor your speech to resonate with them on a deeper level.

Before you write a single word, do some research. Go beyond basic demographics.
What do they already know? Avoid telling them things they already know, which can be boring, but also avoid assuming too much knowledge, which can leave them lost.
Why are they here? Are they attending voluntarily? What do they hope to learn or gain from your speech?
What are their concerns? What problems are they facing that your topic might address? What objections might they have to your message?
2. Structure with Their Journey in Mind
Think of your speech as a journey you’re guiding them on.
Start with Their Reality: Begin by acknowledging their current situation or a problem they can relate to. This instantly builds rapport.
Show, Don’t Just Tell: Use relatable stories, analogies, and examples to make your points come to life. If you’re talking about a complex concept, compare it to something they already understand.
Organize for Clarity: Use a logical flow with clear transitions. Don’t jump from one idea to the next. Use phrases like, “Now that we’ve covered X, let’s look at Y.”
3. Practice Empathy in Your Delivery
Your delivery should signal that you are on their side.
Speak Their Language: Use vocabulary and a tone that matches your audience. If you’re talking to a group of experts, you can use technical jargon. If you’re speaking to a general audience, simplify your language.
Look and Listen: Watch your audience for cues. Are they nodding in agreement? Do they look confused? Adjust your pace or offer to clarify a point if needed. Make genuine eye contact with different people throughout the room.
End with Action: Leave them with something they can do or think about. Give them a clear call to action or a memorable final thought that they can take with them after you’ve finished speaking.

In addition, you are to live a very frugal life. This means no going out to the movies or eating out at restaurants. No alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, or illegal drugs. If you do need to buy a car, it’s going to be the cheapest functional used car on the lot. When you shop for food, it’s going to be the cheapest food that you can buy. Better yet, get your food for free at a food bank. If you need to rent an apartment, it’s going to be the cheapest that you can find without endangering your safety. Try to get a roommate, if possible. Buy your clothes at a thrift store. Do not use a credit card. Instead, use cash or a debit card. You get the idea. Tight is good.
Another important thing regarding living a frugal life is where you take your car for repairs. Do not take your car to be repaired by large auto franchises such as Meineke. Instead, take your car to be repaired by small family-owned auto shops. From my own personal experiences with large auto franchises such as Meineke, I find that they try to bleed you dry financially by charging obscenely exorbitant prices for repairs. In stark contrast, I find that the small family-owned auto shops tend to be much more reasonable with their pricing.
Next, don’t be in a rush to get rich by engaging in high-risk behavior. Investing in derivatives such as forwards, futures, options, and swaps can be bad for your financial health. Also, using leverage while investing in the stock market can be bad for your financial health. Slow and steady wins the race! Aesop was right!
Lastly, become a learning machine. Read and listen to educational material as much as possible. Try to learn something new every day. Self education is much more powerful than formal education.

And that you are living frugally on rice, beans, and bananas as well as living in a cheaper apartment. Here you are evaluating the outcome.

Prioritize Self-Care: Your physical and mental health are your foundation.
Adequate Sleep: Crucial for cognitive function, mood, and recovery.
Healthy Nutrition: Fuel your body and mind properly.
Regular Exercise: Boosts energy, reduces stress, and improves mood.
Stress Management: Incorporate mindfulness, meditation, or hobbies that help you relax and recharge.
Celebrate Wins: Acknowledge your progress, no matter how small. Celebrating milestones reinforces positive behavior and keeps you motivated.
Kicking life’s ass isn’t a one-time event; it’s an ongoing journey of growth, resilience, and intentional action. It requires a clear vision, an unbreakable mindset, consistent effort, and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
Are you tired of being broke, sick, and ignorant? Are you tired of life pissing on you? Now is the time to do something about it. Get angry and get even!
If you are financially destitute, you need to get the highest paying job that your education and skills allow. Even apply to jobs that are slightly above your skill set and get them, if you can.
With cashflow coming in, you need to be ruthlessly frugal with your money. That means no eating out or taking the taxi cab. Go to food banks to get free food or buy dried beans and rice wholesale. You can actually live on rice and beans, and they are very cheap. Bananas are also very cheap. Only spend your money on necessities. No going out to the movies, and live in the cheapest apartment available. Get a roommate, if possible.
With the excess money, you are to open up an online discount brokerage account (e.g., Fidelity, Vanguard) and invest the money in an S&P 500 Index Fund. This should be set on automatic pilot, say $100 per month. Invest more, if possible. Under no circumstances should you withdraw any of this money until you retire. By then, you’ll be rich. The magic of compounding interest.
If you are sick, you need to incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet. Your diet should be balanced with protein, carbohydrates, and fruits and vegetables. If you are on a tight budget, rice, beans, and bananas can suffice.
If possible, take vitamins and supplements. Omega-3 (fish oil or krill oil supplements) is the wonder drug of the 21st century. And aspirin is the wonder drug of the 20th century. If you are going to take a daily dose of aspirin, only do so under a doctor’s supervision, since it can have some serious side effects for some people as well as interact with other drugs.
A quick way to build muscles is through isometrics. This is basically contracting and relaxing various groups of muscles several times. You can exercise your entire body doing this. For aerobic exercise, you can take daily walks.
In addition, if possible, you should get at least 6 hours of sleep a night. Actually, 7–9 hours of sleep is better, if you can fit it into your schedule.
If you are ignorant, you need to gain worldly knowledge on communication skills, problem-solving skills, and financial skills. Good books to read on these matters are “How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, “The Golden Key” by Emmet Fox, and “The Little Book of Common Sense Investing” by John Bogle. You need to get very good at these skills.
Lastly, a good book to familiarize yourself with is the Bible. Reading the Bible every day will help you avoid doing stupid shit. What I mean by stupid shit is lying, stealing, selling illegal drugs, taking illegal drugs, getting drunk on alcohol, acting disrespectful, physically attacking someone, robbing someone, or murdering someone. Doing stupid shit will damage your reputation, making you unhirable, causing your family to disown you. A reputation is a hard thing to repair. It can take years, if not decades.
Life is brutal and will beat you down. Take the blows and keep on going. Don’t ever give up on your goals. Always move toward your goals, no matter how hard life hits you. Keep going until you die. Watch the movie “Rocky” for inspiration.
